oh geez. here this girl goes again. chatting away about clickinmoms again. but first, let me introduce you to my imaging roommates + fellow CM mentors, leah cook + sara seeton. maybe you read about them in my recent interview with my four hens. so much going on. seriously. so let’s recap my last few weeks/months. it’s been a whirlwind!

it all started when i joined cm + was accepted into pro. after that, it only got better.

in september, cm published an article of mine on their blog – entitled top ten list of family photography tips. in october, i was named CMpro of the month. it was an amazing honor and quite a surprise for me. they interviewed me for the blog + i had a mini-breakout session on ‘how to get your name out there.’ it’s still for sale in the CM store.

in november, i had TWO blog posts – one on Personal Blogs vs Business Blogs | How Much Privacy Is Right For You? and the other on World Prematurity Day + Photographing NICU Babies. The response to the nicu post was amazing. i have over 35 comments + almost 300 FB shares!

in december, i took over the post of newsletter editor for the CMpost + also was asked join the CMteam as a mentor. a few of my favorite things were featured on the 2011 gift guide too.

the new year brought a new blog post on Get Organized + Stay Ahead of Your Blog Posts and Tweets and the announcement of my first ever CM workshop!

Yes, you read that right! Business 101: Hands-on WordPress Clinic. If you ever wanted to get a new customized blog but wanted to know HOW to do it … this is the workshop for you! four weeks + you will have a rockin’ site.

oh, and i can’t forget about the amazing time at imaging. but i’ll leave that for another post! but meet my roomies. the most awesome friends a girl can have.

so 2012 is here! i can’t believe it. and for anyone who knew me this year, i tried to keep christmas to a minimum … we focused on jesus rather than st. nick. and who knew the greatest gift that boden would receive would be the BOX my gift to ken came in.

over the next few months, as i take a break from photography (i mean, who wants beach portraits in 30 degree weather), i’ll be posting to the Clickinmoms Daily Project. this is the first of the year (shame on me, i’m a day late). but in case i forget to post here, you can always find me there.

this picture is proof that some investments i made this year were worth it!

first, clickinmoms fine art presets are hands down my favorite new action sets. i apply them in ACR + play with the different ones until i find one that ‘fits’ the mood of the photo. next up is my fabulous new L-lens i’ve added to my expanding collection – the 35L. i should have purchased that baby SO LONG AGO!

the lovely ladies of october rain (well, kristen who i know from clickinmoms) contacted me to create a blogsite for their newly formed joint venture business. with the simplicity of a gray logo, the sky was the limit. we created a site that stayed true to the modern feel of my designs but also added so other elements.

when elicia contacted me for a design + told me she was working with sara (of sara seeton photography), i knew that it would be a modern + sleek logo that would ‘fit’ my ideal client. just like when looking for a photographer, when looking for a logo and/or blog designer, you need to find one that suits your needs and fits YOUR style.

elicia recently relocated + wanted to start fresh with a new logo + design. i love love love it. from the chevron pattern to the whimsical ‘e’. pure perfection. then i post the design on my facebook fan page + get this comment. comments like this make me happy.

why? yes, it’s not from the actual client who already has approved the design but someone who knows her + feels i’ve designed something that suits her!

my precious lilliana has had the same best friend since she was 6 months old.

i always joke with her mom that thank goodness we like each other b/c they spend so much time together. from the morning bus ride to preschool to the bus to OUR house to an afternoon with us before her mom comes, they never ever grow tired of each other. you can see them through the years over on my personal blog and please don’t judge my snapshots there.

without further ado, the best friends … together … despite the freezing weather. can you remember your best friend in preschool? grade school? do you keep in touch?
